Together Again

This week’s snippet is from The Ancient–Bruce and Jules have had an epic, final argument, and Bruce has gone to be with Jeffrey–where he’s always belonged.

“Come in, my love, I’ve been waiting.”

Bruce stepped inside, then put his things down on the floor by the door as Jeffrey closed and locked it.  When he turned to face Bruce once again, he held his arms out, and Bruce entered their circle.  Jeffrey held him with a fierce, protective gesture, his eyes squeezed shut, and Bruce wrapped his arms around him, his fists clenching his shirt, burying his face in his neck.

“Jeffrey, I missed you so much, I–” He started crying, almost sobbing, he couldn’t help it.  All the years without him, all the nights he lay in bed awake, even when he was beside Jules, they all came crashing down.

  1. Sweet scene. I hope he’s “home” for good now.

  2. Jeffrey’s always been his safe harbor —

  3. Very romantic, sweet moment!

    1. thank you ❤ my men are pretty romantic in spite of everything — even what's coming up in book 2 😦

  4. Anazing scene! I almost cried, too! ❤️

    1. Thanks ❤ I love these guys–even ancient vampires couldn't stop them 🙂

  5. Oh, wow. Such an emotional moment here. Good thing Jeffrey’s there for him.

  6. Thank you 🙂 They never should have been apart, but sometimes life takes strange turns–

  7. I don’t know your two, but the emotion of the scene came across very well. Makes me want to find out why he was with Jules in the first place.

  8. Well, it’s hard to describe in detail here, but Bruce tried to force Jeffrey’s hand, force a commitment out of him, and Jeffrey panicked, running away yet again. In his absence, Bruce met Jules and fell in love with her because he thought he had lost Jeffrey forever, but that wasn’t the case. Bruce and Jeffrey never stopped loving each other 🙂 The book goes into much better detail 🙂

  9. The emotions came through so strong here.

  10. Thank you 🙂 Bruce always regretted not waiting; he lived with the guilt for a long time, and even if he did love his wife, he couldn’t forget Jeffrey. The moment when they could finally be together was a little too much for him 🙂
